THE CHALLENGE:

The Town of Ponoka had been using a DOS based ERP system for over two decades and began making inquiries for a new financial system when they realized they needed a more intuitive and user-friendly solution to meet their growing business needs. Their current solution lacked the ability to provide flexible reporting, provide users across the organization with fast and relevant access to information using familiar Microsoft tools and provide an integrated solution for managing and sharing data with other departments. In addition, they wanted a solution that had the ability to streamline the training of new staff and increase overall efficiencies.  “We were in need of a complete financial system overhaul”, said Betty Quinlan, Director of Corporate Services. These challenges were all driving factors in the Town of Ponoka’s search for a new, more robust and integrated financial management solution.

THE SOLUTION:

It was the combination of user-friendly interface, product functionality and local market experience that convinced the Town of Ponoka that Diamond was the optimal solution for their needs. The Town of Ponoka is looking for improved access to information, drill-down reporting capabilities, and a system that will grow with them as their financial reporting needs change. “The software is intuitive and will most likely pay for itself in a few years - we are all really looking forward to the conversion”, said Quinlan.
