Vadim Software | Neighbouring Municipalities a Driving Factor in Decision to Choose Vadim's iCity
November 1, 2011

The close proximity of neighbouring municipalities and Vadim’s presence in Northern Ontario prove to be driving factors behind the Township of Manitouwadge’s decision for choosing Vadim’s iCity suite.
“It’s nice that we can rely on neighbouring municipalities in Northern Ontario who use iCity on a daily basis to help us when we need it, and they can rely on us,” says Margaret Hartling, Treasurer.
Margaret had used iCity in her previous position at a neighbouring municipality and felt the software would be a good fit for Manitouwadge’s needs.
The Township is most looking forward to the software’s ease of use, ability to drill down, reporting capabilities and cross-training staff on the software.
“The test data available in iCity is invaluable,” Margaret states. She has worked on many other software systems in the past and says iCity is the only one she’s used with test data. “I love having the ability to work with test data,” she adds.
The Township of Manitouwadge purchased iCity General Ledger & Budgeting, Accounts Payable & Bank Reconciliation, Accounts Receivable, Property Taxation, Cash Receipting, Purchase Orders, Payroll, Utility Billing, Fixed Assets and VadimVIEW.

About the Township of Manitouwadge
When you travel to Manitouwadge, their friendly welcome signs greet visitors with “Welcome to Manitouwadge; Home of a Lot of Really Great People”. The nomadic Ojibway Indians were the first inhabitants of the area and originally named it ‘Manitouwadj’, an Ojibway word meaning “Cave of the Great Spirit”. The spelling was later changed to Manitouwadge when chartered maps and geological reports of the area were done. Originally developed as a mining community, the township’s primary industry is now forestry. The Township of Manitouwadge is located north of Lake Superior, in the center of Ontario.
