Vadim Software | Skeena Moves to Solution Built Specifically for Local Governments

Growing frustrated from using a financial software system that was not tailored specifically for local government, Skeena-Queen Charlotte Regional District (RD), BC, decided that a change was necessary. After careful consideration of all available software solutions within their price range, the Regional District felt confident in their selection of Vadim Software’s iCity suite.

Their previous system provided the Regional District with several challenges including inability to import data from BC Assessment, lack of budgeting tools and limited functionality in Accounts Receivable.

“When we spoke with the nearby Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine, they shared the process of how they download roll information from BC Assessment and use it within iCity, which is exciting for us to hear,” stated Treasurer Jennifer Robb.

In addition to CAO Joan Merrick’s previous experience with iCity, the Skeena-Queen Charlotte RD felt comfortable knowing that neighbouring communities were using the same financial software suite and that they recommend iCity to other local government organizations. The Regional District’s neighbouring communities using iCity include the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine, Town of Smithers and City of Terrace as well as two municipalities within the Skeena-Queen Charlotte RD:  the District of Port Edward and City of Prince Rupert.

Jennifer added, “We are looking forward to increased efficiencies in staff time and greater functionality with the use of iCity.”

Vadim has a combined total of 268 clients using either the iCity or WinFin products. Of the 205 iCity clients, 77 are in the province of BC.

Skeena-Queen Charlotte Regional District purchased iCity General Ledger & Budgeting, Accounts Payable & Bank Reconciliation, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Utility Billing and Cash Receipting as well as Vadim’s Managed Hosting service.
